Swimming Gala

On Wednesday 29th April, over 300 pupils descended on Teddington Swimming Pool to take part in our annual Inter-house Gala. There were 62 races testing the children in all 4 swimming strokes and in relay and squadron events. In the individual events existing school records were broken by: Jessica (Yr3 Backstroke), Noah (Yr8 Backstroke), Nick (Yr8 Breastroke) and Edward (Yr3 Frontcrawl). After the individual events, the Houses were only separated by 20 points with Vulcan leading. However, with double points available for relays, it was all to play for. The Gala ended with an exciting Squadron Relay which was won by Vulcan. This was not enough to tip Saturn off the top spot and they won by 11 points overall.

We returned to school where our guest of honour, Mark Foster, Olympic swimming legend, presented the medals to the winners and gave an inspirational speech.

Final Positions:

1st Saturn 184pts

2nd Vulcan 173 pts

3rd Neptune 165pts

4th Jupiter 153pts
