In Half Term, our Year 8 boys set off to South Africa for this year’s tour where they played cricket in the Nelspruit and Pretoria areas in warm, beautiful and stimulating conditions and enjoyed more success than recent tours areas, winning against Curro and Riverview Prep.
They enjoyed game drives amid the vast landscapes of the Kruger National Park and spotted elephant, giraffe and rhino. They even witnessed a successful buffalo lion kill and glimpsed a female leopard.
The lodges and accommodation were excellent quality. Pupils were also hosted by local families and visited local township schools to gain a genuine experience of life in South Africa for children of their own age.
The boys also visited Centurion Park test cricket venue, played mini golf, visited an elephant sanctuary and had plenty of down time during their action-packed tour.
