Netball Success

The girls have had a very competitive netball season playing almost 40 matches, of which they won 20 and drew 5. The U11A team have had great success at the tournaments, winning the Sir William Perkins’s Tournament, Staines Prep Tournament and the Richmond Borough High Five Tournament. The girls were also runners up in both the Newland House Tournament and the IAPS Regional Finals in High Wycombe, qualifying for the IAPS National Finals at the end of March, where they played well, winning 6 out of 9 games and finishing 4th in their group.

The U11B and the U10A teams have also had a great season. The U11B girls were runners-up in the Hoebridge U11B tournament and the U10 girls have made huge improvement over the season receiving the bronze medal at the Bute House Tournament. U9 girls have also had great success, earning bronze in the U9A Hoebridge tournament and finishing runners-up in the U9A Orchard House Tournament.

In January, we hosted our first Newland House U11 Netball Tournament (see picture above). The day was a great success with 8 schools taking part. We entered an A and B team and made it into a nail-biting final against Glendower. The final went into extra time but eventually we lost the game by a narrow margin.
