Well done to year 4 pupils who took part in the Summer Fields School Mathematics challenge yesterday. They faced strong competition from a field of 24 other schools and whilst our teams did not quite make pole positions, they tried exceptionally hard and thoroughly enjoyed the competition.
The competition consisted of several challenging rounds, each of which lasted approximately eight minutes. These included ‘Dicey Dicey’, ‘Make 24’ (Countdown), puzzles with tangrams, pentominoes and dominoes, ordering cards by following given clues, mazes, simple timetables and logic problems. The final round ‘And the Answer is’ consisted of brain teasers with multiple choice answers.
Many thanks to Summer Fields for hosting such an enjoyable event.
