On Tuesday 20th June we celebrated a Day of World Languages with a colourful Chinese theme. The children found some novel ways to dress within the theme including martial arts outfits, kimono's and of course an array of fans and parasols. They all looked wonderful in their outfits and staff also entered the spirit with their costumes.
The day started with an assembly led by the Head of Mandarin from Hampton School where pupils learned to count from 1-10 in Chinese. Throughout the day, lessons had a Chinese twist, some pupils tried Tai Chi, others learnt more Chinese Mandarin and of course Chinese music. At lunch time pupils enjoyed an appropriately themed curry, spring rolls and rice in the beautifully decorated canteen.
